Default no oil pressure at idle

ok so i have a d16 with vitara pistons and TT rods. it has about 1200 miles on it. first off. about 2 weeks ago driveing down the highway i lost my oil plug. i saw that the oil pressure dropped to 0 psi. i shut the motor off, a matter of seconds after seeing 0 on the gauge. i put a new oil plug in it and added oil. since then maybe a couple days later i have noticed that at idle i have no oil pressure it is at 0 psi. when i get the rpms over 2 grand. the oil goes to about 12 to 13 psi. driveing down the road at highway speed (60-70) 5th gear about 2500-2700 oil is around 25 psi. under load and boost oil goes to 30-50 psi. and all of these readings are while motor is at running temp. when the engine is cold the oil pressure is 50-75 at idle

any ideas about this has anyone else had this happen to them and what was the fix.

is my oil pump going out?

am i using the wrong oil?

am i a IDiot??

thank you
Chris

did you have oil pressure at idle before you dropped the plug?

yep. ran fine before then..still runs fine just the whole wierd no oil pressure at idle thing..we did put a different turbo on last weekend, with a modified hf manifold..think maybe the oil is getting too hot and thinning out too much? running 15w50 now, was running 10w30 to break the motor in...

I run 10w30 and I think most do too. Was going to run 20w50 years ago, but asked HMT and they advised me not too.

Do this: Jack it up, pull the drain from the turbo or pan whatever and grab a bucket. Start the car, let it run see if you get oil from the drain and that eliminates the thought of NO oil at idle.

if it was fine before you dropped your oil pan nut, you probably have a bearing thats about to spin.

drop the pan and wiggle the rods twords the intake and exhaust manifolds. If theres any play, that ones about to spin. My stock z6 showed nothing on the gauge at idle right after i put on my first turbo kit... I didnt think anything of it because the oil pressure light wasnt on. Never had a bearing failure, blew the head gasket first

could just drive it ***** to the wall, pedal to the floor the whole time..at least you'd have proper oil pressure
