No A/C with HF Mani?
is there any way around this? i want to keep my a/c and p/s and still be able to boost my pos d15b7 with my t25. of course i was planning on using an hf mani so i could be cheap but now im reading that you cant keep the a/c.....
all i can guess to do (and remain cheap/ghetto) is to just build an elephant/sinktrap mani using my stock b7 header and move the turbo a bit towards the passenger side or atleast out of the way to clear a/c? |
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
HF/AC adapter plates used to exist. pm weir, he might be able to help you.

Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
spend the money on a decent manifold to clear everything.
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
yes i would like to know aswell
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
thanks, ill talk to him, although im wanting to make my own flanges/adaptors myself to save money
im not spending more than $50 on a manifold. i spend real money on my built gsr, not my dd d15. |
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
after actually sizing up things in the bay, im kind of confused as to how im going to make anything work due to the a/c compressor/lines/fan and the radiator fan, not to mention the slave cylinder bleeder. obviously this is new to me but im just not seeing how its possible. i guess i need to look around at some a/c compatable kits on a car *shruggs*

Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
with the right manifold it'll clear AC and PS.

Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
I was talking to a tech at the Honda dealership (who's been working on Honda's for over 20 years, and has turbo'd many Civics), and he said as long as the exhaust housing of the turbo isnt on the same side of the A/C compressor, you can keep A/C....w/a HF manifold.

Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
What turbo is that?
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
it was a 9b from a 3kgt. it was fun. pulled on some v8's since it spooled so low
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
well ive got a t25 and plan on making my own adaptor plate....so with that said, what should i keep in mind when making the plate in order for it to work?
and phil, did you keep your stock fans on the radiator/ac? |
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
yup, stock fans. although, if i was going to do it again, i would use slim fans.
i think you can make a t25 work, but there will be some performance left on the table due to how you have to route your downpipe. it has to make a really sharp 90° out of the turbine housing |

Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
the easiest way to have ac and powersteering is to use a log manifold. you could make one of those yourself if you can make a downpipe. then you can put the turbo anywhere you want.
for the cost of an hf manifold and an adaptor plate, you can get a tunertoys log kit |
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
i was thinking about just making my own log, itd be cheaper than the TT kit. you think this would work better and trying to make an hf mani work? i would still be making my own adapter plate....and should i move the turbo to the pass side a bit to help with clearances for the a/c pump? i know the runners wont be perfectly equal, but....
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
you can move the turbo core towards the passenger side of the car with a log than an hf. i think your chances of making it work with the hf are a lot slimmer than a log. also, if you dont already have the hf it will cost the same
|
Re: No A/C with HF Mani?
ok, thanks for the help phil. i will probably just order from acestainless and weld up a little loggy
