No boost in first gear?

Sup guys, my buddy and I just finished up boosting his eg w/ a b18a in it. We have an odd issue. The carf has a b18a with a GSR s80 trans. The car runs on 10psi in 2-3-4 and 5th gear. The does not boost AT ALL in first gear. If we take it to revlimit, the RFL blows off, but the boost gauge does not register any PSI. As soon as we get into 2nd, pulls hard, 10psi by 4k rpm... Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance.

Re: No boost in first gear?

that must be a huge turbo. i get 5psi before 4500rpm with a 60/63 t3 on a z6. i bet it would happen sooner if i used a MBC. right now i am just using a stock internal wastegate actuator that is set to 5psi

ok since you have no boost in first... then you must get traction in first? does it spin second?
if not then this might be good.

Well it's a 60/63 t3/t4. The boost controller is set all the way down and is using the wastegate spring, it's a turbonetics wastegate. My buddy has a b18b in a 4 door integra with a GSR tranny and a rev hard turbonetics kit... He boosts all 7psi in first.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes I have full traction in first, it's like it was when it was NA, 2nd gear pulls great, full 10-12psi by 5k rpm.

I think slicks should solve the problem!

You may have a small boost leak but it sould make pretty good track times
