Nissan 200SX turbo, upgrades?

2 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, my buddy is buying a 1985 Nissan 200SX turbo tomorrow and he's wanting to put a little bit of money into it to make it a little bit faster. Does anybody know where I can either A.) find more information on this car or B.) locate some performance parts?

I'm pretty sure the turbo has a t25 flange on it since most nissan turbos do, which would make upgrading the turbo pretty easy. What I'm worried about is whether or not the computer would adjust to a bigger or more efficient turbo so that it doesn't run lean or rich.

Anyways if anybody can give me some more info or point me in the right direction that'd be great.

Here's a shot of the car for anybody curious

I would look around in there.Just looking at that picture Im thinking start with a electric fan, front mount intercooler, exhaust, boost controller and figure out what is done for fuel system then start looking at bigger turbo.

Swap in a CA18DET. Bolts right in.

www.club-s12.org turned out to be extremely helpful. For now the plans are to iron out the minor quirks in the car (master cylinder, windshield, power steering, rear driveshaft). After that we'll either swap in a different motor or just see what we can do with what it's got. Seeing as how we're both broke as ---- we'll probably just modify what it has.

I'm thinking get rid of the catalyc converter, run an exhaust, add a front mount and BOV, megasquirt setup, "euro" cam, and finally a bigger turbo. We've got a CA20E intake manifold and a KA24 throttle body which are both bigger than the ones on the car and would make FMIC piping so much easier to route. I'm just not sure if the intake manifold ports and bolt pattern are the same on the CA18ET as they are on the CA20E.

Anyways I might keep this updated as we get work done to the car...
