Default Nightmare chassis strikes again!

So I had the pleasure of working with the Nightmare crew this saturday... figured I'd show some of the process (bear with ... its a camera phone... only thing we had )

So first we'll take a little of this... which of course is the basis for a good project...

Then you add some ingredients into the mix... aww stock si mota...

A little prework capture... pre bucktooth

Now this is what happens when you combine 2 smics... cleaning solvent... tig welding ...

Now add some hot air to that mix and... wooo 6 foot fireballs!

Ah... the buckteeth will fit!

Adam takes a little smoking break....

The mad fabricator starts hacking my poor ef apart!!!

Then proceeds to finish the 2smic FMIC

Lets finalize the turbo assembly...

Oh we had better pressure test the IC... PPPPFFFFFFTTTTTT.....

Here let me try.... PPPPFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.....

K, lets brace the IC with a quick tig bead....

Mounted, piping run ... almost done!

A little before/after pic....

Bumpered up and ready to roll.

Thanks again guys... once i drop the ARPs in I'll let you know how it feels in boost If anyone wants work done in chicago... very good welding/piping/fabricating... just drop me a pm and i'll give you more info on these guys.

Also.. the fmic is going black... so if anyone bitches about it being centered... or little crooked... ima kick you in the buckteeth Also, intake pipe is getting heat wrap... couplings are getting silicon'd.

Why did you run all that piping for that filter? Anyways nice setup and love the dual smic's.

Yeah wow thats a long *** pipe. Looks great man how's it runningso far? You couldn't just run that intake pipe through the drivers wheel well to bring in colder air?

3 reasons...
1. filter wouldn't fit in engine bay between headlight and mount.
2. Filter could go down in wheel well... but i have no fenderliners and its just a daily driver.
3. Going to find a washer resevoir and reinstall it... daily driver loves washer fluid.

btw specs are....
14b (td05h)
hf manifold
bmc racing adapter plate
1g dsm bov
450cc injectors
255 walbro in tank
turboedit
Nightmare chassis 2.5-3in Downpipe, 2in to IC, 2.5in IC to IM, custom 2 dsm smic... FMIC.
Thermal 3in exhaust.

why don't you just leave it open or just put a piece of steel mesh over the compressor opening? you could make another set of charge piping off all the intake piping! lol

Hehe yup. I prefer to filter it all. The fact that I'm daily driving it up here in chicago.. makes for nasty road crap. I drove it home on snowy salty roads last night. Wouldn't want that in the turbo and engine.

Also, I temporarily had a filter on the tb... and I haven't noticed much a throttle response issue. No more than I was expecting with the turbo on. The intake pipe is progressively tapered from 3in to 2.5 to 2in right into the turbo inlet.

I'm just paranoid... don't feel like tossing in the spare motor already... because I got crap in the engine

And yeah... homemade is the way to go Must say this site made me much more comfortable to try it. Once I get done tuning it and a dyno done... If it turns out well I'll make an updated post with a turboedit sucess story.

verizon LG VX6100, not bad for a cam phone really

OH absolutely on the paint I'm going to borrow a friends camera to get nicer pics so I can document the piping... its too purty to not do that before I paint it. Then all the piping is going flatblack along with the ICs.
