Damn dude, that is one nice looking motor. What paint did you use on the Valve Cover? How much boost you gonna push through this non-vtec motor? From the looks of it, it aint stock..? Nice job though, looks clean

ummmmm ok.... :-\
dont know how to respond to that, that sounded like a question like that one time a guy asked me why i needed a radiator that big... ???
it was powdercoated like that when i got it, so i dunno what kinda paint it is. im pushing 9psi like in my sig, and its a y8 head, meaning its a vtec engine (well, true bottom end is non-vtec, but its no problem with a good tune). and no, it aint stock. just barely though, all i have is a little headwork to help it breathe. im not gonna spend money building a d16, my money is going into the ls thats gonna be in there in a couple months. just gotta get me a turbo header and that ct26 my buddy is trading me. i dont have time to drop an ls in there right now, i've gotta get it running by wed. when i leave for tennessee tech. yay for college

That manifold is gonna be glowing after a few good runs! lol. I wrapped my old cast manifold and that fucker was glowing from all the heat held in but it just goes to show that it works. That engine bay look super clean. Good luck with this sohc and hopefully it'll last longer.

manifolds are cast iron, headers are stainless steel or aluminum. at least thats how i've always discerned between them.

wow i've NEVER had this problem. i think you might be having a tiny little EGT problem dude. lol. i have 1500 degree paint on mine and it only started chipping off after a month of driving it. i guess the watercooling really helps. thanks, yeah im hoping to get a little more than 2 days out of it (thats how long my last engine lasted, the oil pickup tube vibrated off and it spun a rod bearing due to oil starvation)
