new turbo civic
I just installed a t3 turbo on my d16y7 minime. I get like no boost till 6700 in first and 6000 in second, and its like nothing. The max I was able to put out was .48 kg or boost according to the afc. It does have a frontmount. I dont see a leaks, except for the downpipe. It a big leak. Im using chrysler 2.2l t3. Would that cause it.

Re: new turbo civic
if you're using an internal wastegate, make sure the arm is pulled tight.

Re: new turbo civic
What is the trim on the turbine of that turbo? You said it's a T3 but what size....48 .63 or .82?
|
Re: new turbo civic
the dodge T3 turbine housing A/R would be either .48 or .64
|
Re: new turbo civic
48

Re: new turbo civic
WG flapper might not be fully closed or boost leak somehwere
|
Re: new turbo civic
if the wg is in the o2 housing/dp...a leak there will cause this problem

Re: new turbo civic
The turbo to displacement shouldn't make THAT big of a difference in this case.... like they've been saying, it's either a WG problem (stuck open somehow) or a leak somewhere in the piping.

Re: new turbo civic
Its not a wastegate problem

Re: new turbo civic
is it normal for the bov to be open at idle
|
Re: new turbo civic
BOV opens in vacuum condition. Closes in boost condition. Yes it's normal. ;)

Re: new turbo civic
I just figured out the problem, for all of you that said the wastegate good job. It was adjusted wrong
