It will be summer before i really tear into it. I'm gonna gather parts for the next couple of months till i have everything i need.
Here are the turbos and the car they are going on. (gt3582r on left, and t4 on right) I'll be sure to post a build thread with lots of pics when i start actual work. I will be running a dual intank walbro setup activated by a hobbs switch to fuel this beast. plan to run about 10lbs since stock for stock the 5.3 iron block can handle more boost than the aluminum ls1. |
basically my question is.. would either of these, as a twin setup, run out of steam if i planned to revv out to 6500 rpm pushing 10 lbs?
|
twin t4"s will spool up at a low rpm while the gt35"s will spool up at a mid range rpm. the smaller exhaust housing on the t4's will choke at high rpm. if your just going to run 10psi i would scrap the twin turbo setup. its a lot of work and money for just 10 psi. go with a single large turbo. its more efficient at mid/high rpm and will generate more power. the downfall is more lag but when it spools up, hang the f%$k on. gl with your build. looks like it is going to be a sh^%load of fun.

Thanks for the info. I thought about the single turbo setup, but the twins have that "bling" factor that i just cant get out of my mind.
|
go with the 2 gt35's then. that should work well.
