new to the site need a lot of help
hey im new to this site so i figured id start off with a hey...anyway i had a 89 hatch sold it to buy my mr2 but recently i decided to get another hatch because working on the mr2 is so expensive and hard. so i am thinkin about running a d16y8 and boost it with a little bit of spray. i was wondering if anyone could help me make a detailed list of everything i would need to do this setup...im only 17 so i dont know too much aboout this stuff.

ive looked at all that but i need a list of internals to run the turbo and the spray...thats all i dont know is what in the motor i need to build up to handle the boost..i also want to run the t3/t4 turbo so on a vtec motor would it be a problem to run that size turbo?

Re: new to the site need a lot of help
what are you trying to accomplish? HP goals, how much money you wanna spend etc..... once you come up with that, then go from there.
I would say, forget about the Naz, and just put together a simple kit. retaining stock engine components.

Go stock motor on a junkyard setup, no nitrous, dont get into new map sensors and built motors just yet. You obviously arent ready
Piece together a $1500 turbo kit for your stocker, new clutch, tires, and run that

Your first priority should be to set a horsepower goal like stated. I have an 89 hatch, and you'll find that older ED-EF style hatches start to get fun at the 200hp line and continue on from there. 250hp creates an interestingly fun daily driver once you get used to the feel of it, and 300hp in one of these shells starts to get pretty tiresome to drive. Torque steer, broken parts, not being able to keep traction...all these things have to be taken into account. If you still want to hit into that 300hp range, then look into a set of eagle or TT forged H-beam rods and a good set of forged pistons.
Research is key to making setups like this last longer than a few days or weeks. Read as much as you can on boost and related topics...then when you think you've got the hang of things start asking questions and picking out parts. When you can cross-reference a compressor map to your engine to correctly match a turbo to it, then I'd say you're ready for the big leagues

Re: new to the site need a lot of help
if your young and just wanna ---- around a bit have a fast car and not race set of vetara's and rings super cheap in classified section and lower the compression= more reliable. rods optional but i sugest some H beams . and some block posts from endyn would be nice then slap her together with some 450's or a larger injector some decent tuning and you'll have plenty of fun.
