new project

So I have decided to bag the idea of boosting my cobra for now. I have a 93 hyundai excel with a 1.5 liter ohc and an auto. is it possible to boost this piece? I am a welder by trade so the plumbing and manifold is no thing. I would llike to know where to start. I know i need a turbo but what a/r should i look at? I dont want alot of booast just enough to boost performance. thinking 4-5 psi also will a fmu and bigger injectors be needed? will the auto survive? Some will think I am dumb but i thought to myself what a fun little project to put on HMT. I don't care if this car has a meltdown as it only cost $200 I will just get a kick out of having a boosted 4dr ugly car. any input or comments would be great .. any help on the subject will be cool.. or if you wanna tell me off thats cool too.

sorry to disapoint you. I am just not ready budget wise to boost it. I figured it would be fun to do a cheap build up on another car first. Is your stang turboed?

Re: new project

I came across a turbo today that was for sale online. It is used and cheap. This is all the info I have on the unit and I am curious if anyone has info on what it is and what it came off of..

It is a Garrett... water and oil lines on the center section. the info tag on the compressor are as follows:

Model TB0324
S/N RFO 775 A
ATD/PN 465163-2
CUST/PN 748603

I have been seaching online for info all afternoon and have come up with evrything fromit being a diesl turbo to a Saab turbo. Any info or feedback would be great. The turbine housing a/r .48
It has a wastegate attached. How do I find out what psi it will hold to?
The reason I am asking for help is the owner of it now also has no idea what it came off of..
here are some pics
thanks in advance...

Re: new project

came from an 89-90 saab 900 turbo 2.0L

Keep in mind, I just plugged to the part number into webcrawler and I got the turbo info from a website (i haven't even looked at the pic). So the info could be wrong.

But, if the info is correct then that should be the .42/.48 which would be good for your 1.5, boost should come on around 3200-3500 RPM, as for the WG-I have no idea.

well today i bought the TBO324 from my source. (elvis you were correct on the saab p/n) as i found a guy parting out an 89 saab 900 turbo and bought a blackstone intercooler/ pipes and couplers plus the down pipe. I brought along the turbo. I also saw that he had a piece that holds the o2 sensor and boom it bolts right on to the exhaust on the turbo. All of this puchased for $175. I also snagged the injectors off the saab. Not sure if they will work for my app but oh well. (pics)
Now for the cleaning. Anything I should be careful of ??????? Does anybody have specs on this turbo? boost map. what flange will work? T3? I will start collecting pieces for the manifold build.
