New Manifold Design!

Well as many may know we desided to quite the log manifolds and start a new line of manifolds. As always we will be giving great prices and a great product, but now wish to offer a design of manifold that should preform as well as any other manifold on the market (including equal lenghts) for a fraction of the price and give faster spool up. For people on a low budget you will now have the choice between mild steel flanges and stainless flanges. You will also have a new turbo flange that will allow the use of t3 garrett/turbonetics turbos, t3 mopar turbo, t3 volvo, along with the beloved t4. All manifolds are made from 304l stainless steel forged bends and mild steel or 304l stainless steel flanges. All manifolds are tig welded.

now for the pictures:
http://bmcrace.com/pictures/products...nifold-top.JPG
http://bmcrace.com/pictures/products...-front-top.JPG
http://bmcrace.com/pictures/products...-collector.JPG
http://bmcrace.com/pictures/products...-clearance.JPG
http://bmcrace.com/pictures/products...s/Weld-pic.JPG
notes:
1. the flanges on the manifold in the picture are mild steel

2. the wastegate flange was placed on angle by accident on this manifold, on our production run it will not be placed on this angle so that it will not become a problem with running the dumptube and downpipe.

3. this manifold is not using our hybrid turbo flange it is using a standard garrett t3

4. piping that welds directly to the head flange gets formed to the shape of the ports and any mismatch is cleaned up.

Prices for manifold will go as so, prices are shipped price to anywhere in USA:

Mild Steel Stainless Steel
D Series non ac $300 D Series non ac $350
D Series ac compatible $325 D Series ac compatible $375
B Series non ac $325 B Series non ac $375
B Series ac compatible $350 B Series ac compatible $400

Whats the warranty on these?

the shitbird minime mani is the same thing if not nicer for 280 shipped?

sgoertz 11-13-2004 12:28 AM

Re:New Manifold Design!

as always i run a 1 year warranty on these manifolds from date of purchase, also the shitbird manifold is nothing like this. this utilizes a 4-1 collector that greatly smooths airflow and improves spool up.

looks just like my south florida performance mani...

which one does it look like? i couldnt find a single one on there web page that looks like mine, inexpensive, made of stainless, or even 100% tig welded. ohh here is the link i used,

ill post a pic of mine

Re:New Manifold Design!

ok, but do rember i am only trying to supply good inexpensive manifolds. not get anybody mad or anything. even if they are the same design mine are still 200$ cheaper for mild steel flanges and 150$ cheaper for stainless steel flanges, and mine are all tig and all stainless bends.

wheh thanks man, you had me going there. we tried hard to release a unique manifold that could put out good power and be affordable. thanks for the compliments.

I will be ordering one by the end of the week....

how long is the turn around time, from the time you get my $$$ till the time you ship it?

Re:New Manifold Design!

Based on the pictures above, will there be a manifold for internal wastegate turbos? If yes, will the price be the same?

sgoertz 11-14-2004 12:55 AM

Re:New Manifold Design!

yes there will be the option for internal wastegate, on the non ac manifolds only, and the price will be $25 less than the original price.

Re:New Manifold Design!

not to be an ass or anything but it looks like the welds need to be a little warmer there. If you look you can see that the pipe/pipe welds are very narrow and tall showing that your not penitrating enough to melt the filler rod you are using into the acual piping. Turn up the amps a little bit (maybe only 10amps) and go slower and use larger circles to allow the welds to penitrate the tubing more.

damn, wish there was a larger wg flange option :'(

actually the welds are about 1/8th- 1/4th inch wide. i also use alot of filler rod and usually end up penetrating so deep that sometimes i burn holes and then have to go and die grind them smooth. do rember i have only be tigging for aboit 4 months now also i am not an expert at it. thanks for your concern though

so one manifold will support all of those turbos?
that would be awesome.
you have a pic of the flange?

Re:New Manifold Design!

whitey rice.. are you serious? If so no, the manifold can't use all those different type of turbo's. It depends on what flange you ask for. If you ask for a Garret T3 flange you'll be able to use T3's T3/4, etc.

actually i think bmc made a flage that is drilled for all of those

ya, i'm ginuwine ly serious. your 3rd post?
the usual problem with the typical t3 flanges is that they are not tall/wide enough for the volvo circular cutout, chrysler offset bolt pattern, and t4 pattern. if it were big enough, you could have room for all of the bolt patterns.

sgoertz 11-15-2004 07:23 PM

Re:New Manifold Design!

The flange we are making is going to be tall/wide enough and drilled and tapped for all the bolt patterns. the port for the turbine inlet will be for a T3 Turbonetics (which is 15% larger than the Garrett) so if you want maximum preformance you will need to port match the manifold for a T4. If you are using a Garrett T3 you may want to port match the Turbine inlet of the Turbo for it as well. Due to bolt hole overlap, the Mopar and T4 Bolt holes will be reduced from 10MM to 8MM (perhaps all bolt holes will be 8MM). This is the best compromises available for this sort of flange.

Looks nice james, how well does that fit in stock cars with stock Fan setups? I'd assume the fan shroud would hit pretty good on the wastegate?

i would point the wg elbow the other way IMO or straight out. kinda looks like this mani if you ask me. but not quite. looks good though. i wouldnt mind pickin one up. and you got a 1 year warranty. doesnt shitbird have a lifetime?
