new clutch disc with stock pp?

i need a clutch really bad and can't really afford one at the moment, does anyone have any experience running an aftermarked disc with your stock pressure plate? i've talked to some local guys at the track and they say they do it all the time.

it's usually vise versa, aftermarket pressure plate with a stock clutch disc. I dont think it's going to work very well at all, especally for boost. Do you have a bad pressure plate or something?

You'll just end up taking it back out again, I assume you want to just throw in a race disc or a 6puk on a stock pressure plate? I've seen a 6puk disc gernade into 4 pieces because a guy ran a stock pressure plate once. He thought he was big baller becaues he only spent 100 bucks on the disc and it held for a little while.

250 bucks is pretty cheap for a clutch kit, I'd just wait because as much fun as putting in trannies is on the ground, I'd definatly pass.

The pressure plate is usually what fails. Then it slips the disc.

you wouldn't have to use an exedy pp, you could use any aftermarket one really. i've seen some act pp's on ebay for a little over 100.
