its the garrett t25 from the 2g DSM's. i heard once that it was a 49 compressor and 41 exhaust but i wanna know if thats true. hit me up

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

the SR20DET turbo's are T28..using a T3 compressor wheel..don't know the specs. you're ok with the DSM T25 use it if you want a good cheap HMT kit

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

so if the T25 is 49/41 would it be puttin out about the same as a t3 48/42 then?

i see at dsmtrader.com you can pick up a t25 for dirt cheap and they are newer turbos compared to the mid-eighties saab t3's

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

I think it's smaller then that T3.. I don't feel like doing a search for it, but any dsm board should have that info for ya.

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

it depends on which year sr it is, mine yeah mine came with a t28 but some older SR20's came with t25's

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

The T25's on the 2g DSM are smaller than the TD04 14b which came on the 1g DSM. The 14b is much smaller than the T3.

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

sorry to jack the thread...

but what kinda difference in hp would there be with a 14b running 8psi or so and a t3 42/48 running 8psi? would the 14b be able to pull all the way to redline with no probs at 8psi on a d16a6?

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

I don't think with either you will see a flow restriction on a d16, so scratch that. The T25 is good up to 20 psi, so I assume the 14b should be able to handle it's own. Another main advantage you have with a smaller turbo is spool time, so that will directly effect the HP curve. I'm still a fan of a T25 even tho jeff has proved me wrong at least once.. everyone around here likes the T3s.

I think you mean to say "too small"

and not really that bad for a d16. What's the 14b on, a 2.0 with like 7.5 (or something close) CR. T25 is on a 8.5CR dohc 2.0

Work well on those cars.

It will only be a matter of time before jeff comes in this thread and proves me wrong (once again).

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

well one things for sure, i dont want a big turbo. i dont think the stock zc can push a big turbo with a fair amount of lag. i like the t25's too but just dont know enough about them. sounds like the a/r is 49 correct?

tekno9998 06-18-2004 03:48 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

Trust me youll get tired of the t25 go small t3 shouldnt have much lag at all and witht he t3 series you have a million options for your manifold and turbo. And t3 turbos can be found all day long for cheap.

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

yea thats true, t3's have more variety's, but dam they got some huge ass wg actuators!

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

lol why would that be a problem? if that is a prob you can alwayz go external :P

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

true yea true but you know what, i have a zc and a t25 and im planning on using both as a HMT setup. this is what i got right now and just wanted some opinions on the motor becoming boosted by the t25

tekno9998 06-18-2004 03:55 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

Well it should have very little lag and offer great lowend but will die up top and leave you wishing for more.

EG_SiCKNeSS 06-18-2004 03:57 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

sure but i'll ask for more boost when i have more money, when does the zc die at anyways?

tekno9998 06-18-2004 03:59 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

Die um prolly when you overboost it :-X

EG_SiCKNeSS 06-18-2004 04:01 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

..............umm new question, when does the zc redline? fuel cut? blah blah blah

tekno9998 06-18-2004 04:03 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

Im tired so here is a guess 7000-7200 not sure but sounds bout right :P

EG_SiCKNeSS 06-18-2004 04:03 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

im pretty sure that the t25 can last up to 7000-7200

quadnie 06-18-2004 05:14 AM

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

You will have to get me thinking about driving the 2g eclipse again. The T25 starts to kick out some boost around 2500 rpm, and I think it's good to 7 grand without the flow restrictions. Another benefit is you can always upgrade your ---- to a 14b or nice big 16g if you get tired of the T25 (which I doubt you will).

Remember that the T25 will be a newer turbo then any T3 by volvo/saab that you'll pull. Don't forget it has water jacket ports in it for extra cooling. Not a bad choice IMO, but you will have more flexability with upgrades if you go with the run/mill T3.

Look around on the DSM boards to find the specs of the T25. I'm sure some other T25 users will voice their opinions in this thread, and I'll be sure to delete any of ya'll dick holes who start talking smack and say that T3 rules ;)

Re:Need specs on the Garrett T25!!

I'm going to use a T3/T4E 57 trim AR .36 turbine and .50 compressor.
Got me a small turbine ;D... I'm going for better 1/4 times...for street or autoX a T25 would be ok
