NEED SOME IMPUT PLEASE!

so i was thinking about going two ways with my 1991 honda crx si. the first way is what everyone does and turbo it. i was going to rebuild the motor(d16a6). but now i was thinking what if i just fix the car up super nice since the car is in great shape. i think that would be better and i am still going to rebuild the motor incase i wana turbo. what do you guys think? turbo or fix it up really nice. thanks everyone for the responses.

I would turbo it so its fast and get that out of the way and fix it up over a period of time and make it look good

power before looks........... this is always rule number 1!!!!!!!!! theres no point in making it look good if its slow.

k thanks guys. i was going to turbo anyways hahaha. but now i am looking at turbos and can anyone recomend a good turbo without getting to pricey?

Definitely go with performance if the car is already in good shape. I'd look into a greddy kit if your concerned about the street legal appearance. However godspeeds kit is pretty good. I can get those reasonably priced to $650 IIRC, + s/h

is godspeed turbo kits good. i have seen them on ebay, but heard not to go with an ebay turbo..

k so now i got a big question. what is a good compression ratio for a turbo d16a6. the kit i wana buy drops it to 8:1:1. is that to low. it is the fj super kit

busa4 09-26-2011 11:21 AM

8.1:1 is perfect for high boost builds. if your going for a low boost build then not a good choice

k i was looking and how is the edelbrock turbo kit. i was looking at the performer x turbo kit and it comes with a garrett ball bearing turbo the GT28R to be presice. is this a good kit for my build? thanks guys

koenigseggccx 09-28-2011 04:23 PM

maybe?

wiltgen 09-28-2011 08:19 PM

you deffinetly cant go wrong with the edlebrock kit. very good quality. but if i were you id figure out what your performance goal is for the car and how much hp your looking to get and daily driveability if thats what you are going to use it for.

ps post some pics of the car lol

koenigseggccx 09-28-2011 09:50 PM

k thanks. i was wanting achieve about 300 hp( if possible wheel horsepower) . is this number to high for this kit? and ya i am going for a daily driver.
