Need a really load BOV?
WHich bov should I get. I want to run between 8 and 10 psi of boost but would like a loud bov sound. Is there a particular kind or brand that has a nice powerful sound on low boost applications. Also, it needs to be fairly inexpensive.

I've heard a hks ssq and its pretty loud but it's not cheap though. Its a nice chirpy sound.

Re:Need a really load BOV?
Is the rfl stupid loud, like drive you crazy loud or does it sound good. I like the turbo sound, so i want to be able to hear it well and stuff, but not rediculous. Is this the one for me.

Re:Need a really load BOV?
That loud huh. Is there another one that is loud but not terribly obnoxious. I want to know it's there for sure but not be driven nuts by it.

Re:Need a really load BOV?
annoyed....past tense....why did you get rid of it? So it's not too bad. Also, how much is a fair price for one. I have seen them as high as 190 or so

Re:Need a really load BOV?
I hate the sound of the Turbo XS. Its a real deep sounding BOV but I think they're so popular becuase of the name.
Out of all the ones I've used: Blitz dual drive, RFL, HKS SSequential, Greddy type-S, Bosch, I like the type S the best. It by far has the nicest sound but everybody has their own opinion. I personally don't the RFL's sound of a charge pipe falling off and the wastegate flutter sound of the HKS. But thats just me. |
Re:Need a really load BOV?
i have a greddy type S on my MR2. my roommate said she could hear me coming from a couple blocks away. sounds pretty nice i think...
|
Re:Need a really load BOV?
Cood deal. Sounds like the type s is the way to go. ONly problem is now I may be doing a less powerful and less intense system than I had originally planned. Like 7 psi instead of 10. The xs may be better because I will lose some sound with lower boost pressure. Oh well. I'll figure it out. Thanks for your $.02

Re:Need a really load BOV?
turbo XS RFA - really ------- annoying.
Get a greddy or HKS |
Re:Need a really load BOV?
thats what I was afraid of with the rfl, Thanks alot the greddy would be my choice most likely then
|
Re:Need a really load BOV?
i just did a few runs real quick with the apex twin chamber BOV on my car and the greddy is not only louder, but it sounds FAR FAR better.
|
Re:Need a really load BOV?
Right on. Thats what the poll seems to be. That the greddy is the favorite sounging of most people.
|
Re:Need a really load BOV?
Greddy type S.....i also like the blitz supersound...
|

Re:Need a really load BOV?
I have an Apex'i Twin Chamber BOV, not annoying loud or high pitched, but a nice whoosh sound that isnt too prolonged or squeaky. Definitely gets attention too.
|
Re:Need a really load BOV?
I'm using the RFL and I love it. If you wanted to muffle it, that's not a problem.. just put a big 'ol spunge over the thing ;D

Re:Need a really load BOV?
