need info on max boost for srt4 neon
a friend of mine hasd a srt neon and wants to raise the boost from the stock 13psi to something more but safe without blowing the motor, i was thinking 15-17 would be safe but i have no knowledge of the motors and how they compensate for more boost but really want to know what the max psi on the stock everythign till theres probblems.
would really like to crank his to 17 with the eebc one from here.

STR4 are the most robust factory turbo 4cyl of our era. Fit a 22R fuel rail (minor mods, much larger, practically bolts on), cut off the cats and run straight pipe, switch wastegate actuators and you too can make 309 whp on a Mustang dyno off of a stock stage nothing SRT4. Push ~19 and go wax asses.

18psi is pushing it on stock fuel, 17psi is safe and will make the most power. Stock turbos are only good up to 20psi before they start blowing hot air. One of the best things to do would be to get a used fuel return line for like 200 bux, an AFC with a tune and like JD said 300whp all day no problem on the stock pcm

Yah, AFCs work on those cars for some reason. Been through one and two e-manages, plugs come out looking perfect. I suspect the ECU has a very intelligent KS-reading protocol.
Stock stage nothing ECU is the best for piggybacking of of, even with bigger injectors and turbo, etc. The Stage ECUs will fight you, and in fact the Stage packages are jokes since you can get the same peak power out of a stock car for less.
