so i cant simply get a cheap unichip for $150AU and get it tuned (god knows how much)

 

That's the thing...if you can at least burn the chip or know someone that can burn a basemap onto a chip for you, you can still leave the tuning to someone else. Obd2 honestly has no way yet to do any kind of diy tuning and chipping...you're solutions are still the archaic fmu or the even worse afc with scaled back injectors.

the only problem with that is i dont know how much i trust some random giving me an ecu setting which could blow my engine?

id rather get it all done from a pro to be honest but looking at cheapest way to do this (and not interested into going as far dyno etc)
