aluminum heads? Without aluminum, on that high a compression you will need to be very, very careful.

Without aluminum head, It is a forged engine though, bored .30 over. I'm boosting it more for show then power, maybe make another 100, 200 horsepower.

with that high of compression you need to change your head gaskets to a solid copper and have the block O-ring'd. I used to run that compression and was using standard fel pro gaskets, and I was melting the cylnder walls and heads. here are some picks of the damage at only 8 lbs of boost, you can see the dips between the cyl

ouch. that head and block are done.

On anythign greater than 9:1, the ability to control teh thermal becomes paramount. Thermal management is what lets turbo engines live. I'd consider methanol or water injection.

Nope its called drop the compression. The new motor is a nice low 7.6:1. And I was able to have the head and block welded and I rebuilt it . and it has been a year now on an NA application.

wow, surprised you wee able to deck it after welding to cast iron. That stuff usualy gets hard as a rock if you weld to it.
