i am curently working on my own HMT project (just started) i need some input on how i should mount the dump tube from the wastegate. should i have a tube pointing down exiting the botton of car or have the dumptube recirculate back into the downpipe and out the exhaust. thanks

 

it's up to you.
it takes more time and fab to make it merge back to the dp.

 

If you have it dump in the engine bay your turbo may suck up that nice hot exhaust...Evans has some dyno graphs where re routing the dump back under the motor, merged into the exhaust or not, but had significant gains in power

You can do it either way, but if you're keeping it open make sure you dump it far enough away. Jeff Evans documented gains by playing the end of the dumptube past the oil pan, I plan on just running mine out to the drivers wheelwell.

Open dumped XSpower Tial 38mm knockoff on my friends H22 sounds like, well, Chewbacca. After blowing by people in my car, I've gotten comments saying it sounds like I'm being chased by a pissed off Rhino, never lawnmower though. Eventually I would like to recirc mine, but the WG placement vs dumptube placement make it a bit more involved than normal.
