You found it buddy. Check the FAQ section. There are several links to turbo projects and useful information.

Choosing the right turbo really depends on what you want out of it. Do you just want a bit more power for everyday driving or do you want to blow the doors of a Vette?

haha yeah it is...okay bud...i might not know a lot about turbos...i am sorry that i did not have the interest...i was big about swapping motors but i realize how much potential there is in my D16Z6 so i think you should shut your mouth for talking ---- about me like you think i am so stupid ---- that knows absolutley nothing...i want to learn...i am dumped on ------- gc's and i have a lot of suspension work on my car but now i want to build a turbo because i think it would be a good way to get horsepower as well as learn about engines...

i am 17 and i work at Winn Dixie making 6.20 and i just got fired from a golf course making 7.0 an hour...so now i have hardly any money

kine462 06-25-2003 11:27 PM

Re:n00b...

now? 6.20 that's not that much difference. if you want to blow the doors off vettes, than race a stingray. and if you want to make your car fast, than lot of money should be invested in your motor, so it can handle lots of booooost. you can mix and match some parts of some turbo's and /or get different trimmed wheels. so it all comes down to speed=cash one way or another.

Re:n00b...

yeah, I have lots of fun with stuff too. you could get one of those turbonators off of ebay that make your car go faster and add lots of hore poer. I mean horsepower. if you dont have any money thats the way to go.

Re:n00b...

to beat a vette you car wont be very daily driven, it takes race gas, dyno tuning, slicks, and a laggy turbo.. corvette c5 = 13.4

i spent about $2200 and am shooting for mid 13s in my rex. (i dropped 800 on fuel management) homemade kits will make you beat most cars but wont shot you into the 13s for $600

Re:n00b...

I'm going to try and quote this thing I heard:

If it's fast it won't be reliable
If it's reliable it won't be cheap
If it's cheap it won't be fast

I probably screwed that up, but you get the idea. :P

Here's a 9.2 run in a vette... They also have a video of a 8.95 run and other runs, but this video has better angles.

Damn. Those launches were insane. You can barely hear any tire squeel. :o I wish I could catch traction like that. :(
