my setup - 94 sedan + t3 sex SHITLOAD OF PICS
well its about time i posted pics of my setup/install. it came out a ---- load better then my last setup for those of you who seen it. no freddy krueger dp this time haha.
this is my 1994 dx sedan. i picked it up for $200 with a messed up front end, blown tranny (was auto) and a tired b7 with 257k on it!!! the thing was slammed on some ebay coil overs, rusted out 1/4s, had some clear corners and was sitting for a year or 2. pretty much was ready for the junkyard.
since ive gotten it ive threw a new hood on, complete EX 5 spd conversion (flywheel, clutch, tranny, etc.) added a dx cluster that had a tach. also picked up a 5spd p06 and chipped it later on (running uberdata!)
i first swapped out the b7 and threw a d16z6 in it, couldnt get it to run right then compression tested it and lets just say it was DOA. waiting to rebuild that bitch. found another d15b7 and chucked that bitch in there. the ex tranny on this b7 is so much better then my last b7 that i had in my 95 coupe with the dx tranny, that thing sucked. i like the shortness of the gears.
so ive been piecing together this turbo setup for a few months now, using the same snail/manifold from my last setup.
setup includes:
STD mani + adapter plate $13 all together
Garett .42 .48 T3 from a volvo 740 $25
2.5" open down pipe (for now, i will eventualy just run straight pipe to a resonator.) $18 of pipe/bends
Drag FMIC $125 used
2" hot pipes, 2.5" cold pipes $30 all together
Napa silicone $30
DSM bov $40
HMT Manual Boost controller (not yet installed) $12
Oil pressure (---- *** $7 equiis gauge!) and Autometer Boost gauges $67 for both
Field SFC, pretty much used only for its shift beep haha, used to use it for a tach before i got the new cluster. $60
Chipped P06, running uberdata $21 for ecu, $42 for xenocron chip kit
NGK 1283s gapped to .030 $8
DSM 450cc with resistor box $45 for injectors, $5 for resistor box
NPT oil feed and 1/4 line $15
right now im running 3.5/4 psi on a basemap. should be tuned if i can get my o2 sensor and exhaust together by the weekend. also my oil return is a little shitty and sometimes my car smokes. i build up full 4 psi by 2500 rpms and it pulls pretty good for 4psi and a b7 in 3rd gear, i love it. the open DP is getting kind of annoying though. in the end im hoping for somewhere around 150-160whp with 8psi street tuned.
car is my daily driver so i cant run the b7 to hard until i get my z6 rebuilt and up and running... im enjoying making it something fun and bringing it back from the dead. anyway here are the pics.
when i got it:
the z6 swap and 5spd conversion:
^only straight ballers use brake line for clutch line (cheap!)
Custom 5spd conversion mount. $175 for a hasport mount? ---- that.
back to a b7 + TURBO GOODNESS:
m4d tyT3 jdm install pic
the blown z6 on the stand, crying for a rebuild and 12psi
finally boosted:
future plans are a flat-rate rebuild of the z6 (rings, rod bearings, 3 layer hg, arp studs) xtd clutch, maybe upgrade the snail at some point.
feedback, let me know whats up.

Rockin the b7, nice stuff, I've been raping mine for the last 3 months on 10 pounds and it holding up great, checked my compression a few weeks ago and its 180-185 across the board. Wow that setup was Ubercheap you sure did get some great deals. Crank that bitch up and get some vids asap!
