my quest for 13 sec. quarter miles

OK... I have a 1999 civic Si, my goal for this turbo project is to run mid to high 13's. my only problem is a turbo..or it may be a problem... I have a CT-26 from a toyota Supra...is this turbo gonna give me power all the way to redline running 10psi??? (b16a2 engine). I am worried about building my manifold for this turbo then it dying out at like 6500 RPM or something.. if someone has ever used this turbo PLEASE let me know.. I really dont want to have to spend 500 something dollars on a new turbo, but if this turbo isnt gonna work, I will. THANK YOU!!!

Ive heard of people using those but im not to famailer with them. Im pretty sure it will work but if not. Turbos do not cost 500$ A decent used turbo will run ya anywhere from 40 to 100 bucks! dont pay ANYMORE then that!!

i think it will, find a compressor map for it and see how eff it is near redline at 10 psi. supra guys are running that turbo at 12psi and getting 13.5's thats with a 3.0l and 3500lb car though.

long as you dont skimp out and do an fmu, log manifold or use stock exhaust or something stupid like that then i think you will be able to at least hit mid 13s with that setup.

eh, Im just gonna do this, that way I know I can get my goal of 13 sec. e/t
-1999 Honda Civic Si
-.60/.63 Garret T3 - dont have yet, looking for one
- S-AFC and 450cc injectors for managment
-3 in downpipe and 2 1/2 inch exhaust
- tyrus intercooler
- some BOV, havent got one yet
-nitto 555r drag radials
-no a/c or powersteering, no backseat, or spare
-running 10 PSI I hope to run somewhere into the 13's.. I would be happy with a 13.8 or 13.9

keep the power steering, wont make much of a different i think... the a/c...

if you are trying to save weight then the a/c is good to remove.. but if u think its gunna rob hp for the motor leave it, just dont turn it on ;)

if its off the a/c clutch is disengaged and wont take any effort to turn it.

LOL..only reason i removing P/S is because the pump went out, and it stopped working, so i took it off. And im removing A/C because its not gonna fit with the turbo..maybe..if i build a custom manifold i will keep A/C.

Get a DX steering rack. Saves lots of weight. Especially because of all the liquids and coolant and such.

Re:my quest for 13 sec. quarter miles

well your car is about 2,600 lbs, you can prob get rid of 200. so 2400 with a turbo b16 .. that sounds about right for 13s. bye bye mustangs, s2000, camaro, etc.

if i were you i would get some regular street tires on your rims and have some drag slicks on little steelies (just 2 of them). that will prob cost the same as drag radials. you might even be able to score some semi used ones cheap.

the drag radials are cool but they will wear fast, also with a big rim you won't have a very good contact patch.

what size rims do you run? i mean the ones you would put the drag radials on.

with the setup you mentioned above you should be in the 13's easily with full interior and ac, ps, and all the ohter stuff you said to take off, unless you are not that good of a driver...
