Default My new turbo<-- 1985 300zx=ghetto with lots of splatter(Probably NWS!) 56kdeath

I wanted to show you fine gents my new set up. I'm fucken happy with it, I'm almost positive half of it will crack and fall apart. But, ---- it.
Anyway, to keep interest at its fullest, I start with.... hot

Alright, here is my 85 nissan 300zx. My last turbo set up was ok... It was my first turbo project and the first turbo car I had ever driven. So it was sweet.. but had tons of room for improvement.
This winter I took some headers I got from a pathfinder and chopped them up, modifying them for my front mount. I basically wanted to improve flow since my old set up was, kind of... dodgy.
Old set up...

What I did this winter

^^^ I ------- love her

This is hot... but it freaks me out at the same time, so a double whammy.

So, I wish I could slam those girls.

Here is a sound clip
I didn't rev it up because it was still cold, and I just basically wanted a clip of it at idle/ish

I'm far from done, I need to finish my intake manifold, I need to clean that ---- up. Get wires wrapped togethere, heat wrap on the pipes, paint my IC tubes, blah blah blah. But its a work in progress.

I was running 10psi when I parked it. It was awesome, this year I want to get some 450cc injectors and romulater so I can up the boost to 15, or in around there. The FMU in those pics, was a...thought! I had a while back For some extra boost. But I'm not even going to bother trying to synchronize that ******. I'll just do ---- right.

I'll use my old 3" turbo back exhaust, ebay IC, knock off RS bov, the 50mm wg I bought for an experiment I was trying a long time ago. But half way through I decided ---- it! So, since I had it... I figured I might as well use it as opposed to my 38mm. Looks cool... why not.

Anyway, rest of the car looks stock. As far as anyone is concerned, its an over weight under powered POS datsun... Half of its true, but its got some jam. Its like the millenium falcon.

Thought I'd share. I made sure I kept the thread interesting!!

I love her so much... ----! I wish I could plow her...

Well, it's an na block. Internals are completely stock, 9:1 compression.
I'm using an 85 turbo computer, 85 turbo injectors which are 260cc.
Blowing through my mafs rather than draw through. I found on my old set up it worked soo much better! I probably should move it a bit further from my TB on this set up though.
2.25 IC pipe diameter.
2.75" ebay IC
3" turbo back exhaust
the knock of bov and wg
Have been using one heat range colder ngk plugs
About 17-18 degrees ig timing
Holset hx35 turbo
some 3" straight through magnaflow muffler

On the old set up, I built full boost in around 3500-4000 rpm in second gear. |
A stock turbo clutch actually did a very good job of holding. It only slipped a couple times for me.

But yeah, not really sure what to expect with the new manifolding. Sounds a hell of alot cooler now though
This is how my intake manifold will look eventually. I kick my self in the *** for selling my old one. But oh well, the way she goes.

Should be fun.

I'll drive it for a while on the same boost level I did last year. Up until I get my pocket romulator and some injectors. Not positive what I'll use yet. But something in the 450cc range. Level the bottom end stock, and see how far I can go.
