My New Exhaust
Got my exhaust done at some shop by some guy. Cost $300, which is kind of expensive, but I'm sure it's cheaper than companies charge for a turbo back exhaust right? 2.5 inch straight pipe, no resonator, no cat, no nothing. And I don't have emissions so I guess i'll pass no problem 8) The car is so much quieter now, which is nice when I am going through neighborhoods but maybe I wish it opened up a little more when I get on it. Going to install my o2 sensor again if it stops raining. I don't think it effected spool too much, I haven't noticed anything, anyway, on with the pics.

Re:My New Exhaust
Looks to me as if you're having a leak.
At the mani or at the downpipe. |
Re:My New Exhaust
you should have him put in a flange for a cutout!

Re:My New Exhaust
I was thinking of doing that, but i wanted to know if i kept a resonator on which would be a better setup? And no i'm not worried about emission testing i know how to slip by that 8).

Re:My New Exhaust
What material did they use? Doesn't look stainless. Did you at least get aluminized? Did they have the mandrels in stock or did they bend them?

Re:My New Exhaust
Yeah, bent at the shop, no places are really pinched though, even the downpipe pic has a nice sloping curve.

Re:My New Exhaust
$300. seems fair if they did it from the wastegate to the muffler. you don't realy notice it but i bet it spools up a lil quicker now.

Re:My New Exhaust
300$ is a lot of there is no muffler :-\. I paid 400$ for a wastegate dump tube, a flex pipe, a resonator, and a muffler...along with 2.5" pipe from the turbo back

Re:My New Exhaust
my exhaust cost 250 from the turbo back when i had my small t3 when i was at school in INDIANA, my dp alone for the new t3/t4 cost 450

Re:My New Exhaust
my exhaust is pretty nice...the muffler was 110$ and the flex pipe was around 70$...so 220$ for a DP/WG Dump and all the piping/work...wasnt too bad
http://www.2amracing.com/CCCM/exhuast.JPG I dont have any really good pics of the DP/WG dump because my AC compressor is still installed...though its not being used :P |

Re:My New Exhaust
You know you can get OBX midpipes on ebay for like $100 shipped. It's 2.5" mandrel bent 304 ss with a resonator and all flanges. Then, you just need a custom downpipe and the pipe from the axle to the muffler, or do what I plan to do and just run a straight pipe back with no muffler ;) I was a bit skeptical at first but for $90, I was willing to try it. It turned out to be a pretty quality piece comparable to any of the other aftermarket exhaust midpipes out there, but for hella cheap. I've had it on my crx for a year now and it's working nicely.

Re:My New Exhaust
i guess I have a biased comparrison...my friend got turbo back(including DP) for 180$ with a flex pipe. Its not too bad...for 300$...if the workmanship is good. Mine is moderate(no leaks)but it could look a lot better.

Re:My New Exhaust
It's definitely quality work, I already had a muffler which he made a flange for so I can remove it separately. The guy did a good job.
