my intercooler piping debacle

right now i am running one of those cut to fit ebay inter cooler kits with a cca intercooler. basiccally the whole kit is cdm and sucks like hell. i am lont looking to upgrade to a full race or whatever big name kit, i just want to try to find something that looks/fits/operates a little better. right now my biggest problem is blowing off couplers. i now i should weld a bevil onto the piping or sometnihg, but i think i just want a new kit.

so i been looking at this ebay kit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...Q5fAccessories

has anyone here run anuthing like this? i think i might get a little terrer response running a slighlty smaller hotside. seeing that my turbo is only a saab 42/48 t3 and the outlet is small as hell i dont need 2.5" hotside.

another big thing is my kit looks and fits sloppy as hell. i think i would have an esier time mounthing the ebay intercooler and i am hooping that the pipe routs allow me to retain my ef bumper lights

i could get the piping kit and keep my cca intercooler. its nice and wide, but i think a flaater intercooler might fit better behind the bumper cover. i dunno, i guess i am just looking for suggestions.

i PMed you back about the kits i have. the only problem with using it on your car is that it wont have enough bends to work with the routing you are using now. its made more for an eg/ek where the tube coming off the turbo goes under the frame rather than through the washer bottle hole. if you can go that way instead, my kit will work nicely for you.

post pics of your kit. if your on aim ime. same sn as on here. as fat as piping comming from the turbo and throught the washer hole, i weas going to keep it or i can remakie it smaller. i know no kit is going to fit exactly like the one i got now.

i had those same red flimsy couplers come with my kit they pop off and tear extreemly easily, Hell i was on the dyno 1st pull 175hp then 2nd 130hp WTF oh there are huge ------ holes in 2 of my couplers. i just switched couplers and got some T clamps and havnt had a problem since.

Whenever I fab intercooler piping I pretty much weld it all together so it only has 4 couplers. TB either side of the Ic and the turbo.

the couplers that come in my kit are the same ones i use on my own car. they are 4 ply and pretty durable. the kit also comes with all t-bolt clamps

I would just hit up Racing Solutions(sponsor here) and get one of his IC piping kits and maybe an extra bend or two. That would be more than enough. Then hit up lowes, homedepot, or the local plumbing supply store for those rubber PVC couplers. As long as you keep an eye out on those steel clamps for stripping out, you SHOULD be fine. Those silicon couplers and t-bolt clamps would be nice, but everywhere I see that ---- it usually a lil expensive for me.
