Default My Holset H1C

So I bought this Holset last night from RC autoworks. I have not recieved it yet but I got it for $50 shipped. He said all he knows is it is an H1C and has little shaftplay. I was in the market for a holset for my built d16 and figured this was only $50 bucks so either way good deal. Now I have been trying to find info on this turbo but Im not having the best luck. Every pic I find of a H1c looks different from this one. The cold side inlet looks a lot smaller than every H1C i have found.. Anyone have any insight into this turbo? Its the only pic I have right now but i should have more this week once it arrives. Also is there anything I can do with it to improve it? Swap housings or anything? Any help is greatly appreciated

Depends on what the part number is. It will tell you turbine housing size, compressor wheel size, etc. As far a it looking different, I'd say their is about 30 or so different part numbers so theirs alot of different upfits and clocking options

before using it make sure you send it to the turbo rebuild shop. if the impellers and housings are not damaged, the rebuild should cost ~250-400.00.

why would you ask about the turbo, and take a pic of a clearly visible parts tag, but not provide the part tag number / close up pic? More pics.

The H1c's area a great platform to build on.. I machined a T3 5bolt housing to hold the CHRA and turbine, then upgraded the cold side to an 8 blade HX40 wheel andhousingwith MWE grooves that are actaully cut into it (unlike stock H1c's)

This turbo is making great power, Im seeing full spool by 4100 RPM in 3rd gear on a 2 liter.. don't give up on it, it's just the HX35 of days past, you can make a 600HP capable hybrid just likeidid for very little money
