My first turbo setup A6
Its my first turbo setup on my 89 civic si. 189000 miles and runs pretty well, except for the crapy idling that ill mess with later.
Specs .42 .48 xs turbo 450s S-AFC (wished i new about crome/uber at the time cause it kinda blows) ngk-11 plugs gaped at .030 hks bov tial wastegate, 6 psi w/dump tube bmc log mani 3 in. downpipe w/flex 3 in exhaust comming out before the R rear wheel (got the idea off an srt) -will never do it again. loud as ----! Fmic -2.5 in piping cold air intake inside bumper boost/vac and air/fuel from summit ported intake mani gude t/b, ecu, i took out the cam -long duration. put stock one in lightflywheel and some aftermarket clutch- alot of pressure and engages real quick. its shot though. oil got on the flywheel and slips like a bitch. It is some how quicker than alot of all motor setups, it doesnt seem like its too much faster than it was w/ the cam, good clutch/intake and full lenth headers. its pretty fun though, still beatin dohc's with the same sohc thats been the car for 17 years. i want to get a wide band and run 8 to 10 psi untill it throws a rod, then get a fresher motor, probly build it than slap the turbo on. the only problems besides idle is a little compesser surge and what i think is the ignition cutting out randomly sometimes when not in boost. distrib. looks good, not to sure. there should be pics unless i screwed up somwhere |
