My D15B7 turbo build-up

Hey guys, I recently acquired this T3 Greddy Airesearch M10 .42/ .48 turbo. I am wanting to do a custom kit with as little money spent as possible. I will be using an FMU 12:1 as fuel management. If you guys have any tips on the best way to cost effectivley set up this kit please let me know. Thnx. I really need to know where to get a adaptor plate for this the turbo is kinda wierd. The bolt hole pattern is different from other T3 flanges. Also I am told this turbo was once intern wastegate. So I will have to find a way to connect a external wastegate to it. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thnx. I'm gonna try to post some pics. Someone please tell me how to post pics. I have some of my turbo and its wierdness.
Parts I have so far
T3 .42/ .48 ----- $50 ------
HF manifold ----- FREE -----

You'll have to click on the attachments cuz i dont know how to put them on this thread cuz Im a newb and everythin. Could someone please tell me how to do that.

Well, when I was considering doing mine, I was told I would need to replace the itnernals if I planned on making any real power. Boost below 5psi shouldbe fine, but most warned that after that, things would start breaking, like rods and such. I was told I would be better off etting a new motor for a boosted set-up because the b7 is possibly the weakest of htem all.

Other than what people told e though, I have nothing for you, sorry.

my buddy mike rebuilt one of these motors with new stock internals and rods and all that. Then made it a mini me and boosted 10lbs of boost..then he added a zex 75 shot..not to say go out and do this kuz you will blow your motor. I guess he got lucky everytime he flipped the switch. For a budget build atleast get new rods

The FAQ thread also has a lot of very helpful information.

Welcome to HMT, and good luck with your project.

::) dont listen to him...ditch the fmu...get ur ecu chipped and tuned with uberdata crome...etc....the turbo u got is a good little turbo for the set up u plan on running i ran one b4 on stock internals at 10 psi for a couple months with no problems until my car was stolen...stealthmode.com has excellent oil lines...get sum dsm 450 injectors...dsm bov...for a manifold check out www.cc-fab.net and iunno just look around and take ur time with this...the last thing u want is a grenaded engine...good luck

Don't listen to a recommendation? Don't listen to what others told me? Are you trying to detest the fact that the internals on the stock d15b7 motor are weak and not built for boost?

Re: My D15B7 turbo build-up

if u had a d15b7 with an fmu strapped to it then yes i would suggest he stay 5psi or below...but with a solid tune theres no reason why he couldnt run up to 10psi without worries...its been done b4

just remember...FMU= :3
solid tuning= :y

yeah but my d16z6 came from the factory with boost spec rods that are like 1/10 wider than d15 rods. Seriously, take the engines apart and compare...stop bashing on the d15 -----.
