Default My CRX build... update 6/25

It's getting a hell of a lot closer to being done (~1 month or so left) so I figured I would post pics for you nogs.

1988 CRX DX
D16Z6 block with A6 head - Delta 272 cam - mild port - Z6 manifold - LS throttle body
Cable SI trans

Turbo kit:

Ported HF manifold with external gate flange and adapter plate
IHI/Borgwarner GM9 turbo
Tial wastegate
Ebay intercooler
2.5" IC piping
DSM 450's (for now)
DSM bov (might need another, we'll see)
Xenocron fuel pump

Tuning:

Crome Gold (might be eCtune, we'll see what happens)
Ostrich and HULOG
Innovate Motorsports LC1 and DB gauge

Car is completely built by me and tuned me except for the bottom end which I traded for. My goal is 300 on the 450's, then a switch to 1000cc and a little E85 action for about 350-375. Now for pics

That thing needed some work, but the car came at the right price.

150 bucks for a DX shell with SI trans and 90% interior in decent shape... not too bad at all. I just wish I had enough time/money to finish it instead of having to wait for my new job/summer.

I'll try to get more pics as the setup progresses. This weekend I hope to have the motor/trans setup mated together and hopefully plant it into the car. I need to buy little things like shock top hats for the back, wheel bearings, and start thinking about repairing the rust.

Speaking of wheel bearings, anybody have luck doing a set of those without a shop press? I've been told to use a socket/hammer, but I think that might be a bit difficult to do.

The price is right on that.

Did you paint the block? It's nice and shiney.

Good luck. I had a practically complete z6/y8 setup done before I went without a job for a few months and had to sell it. Going LS-VTAK next

Can't wait to see it run

The block was hot tanked and then painted with some engine matte paint that I've been trying to find. Everything the auto parts stores have is really glossy (ie mexi shine) and I hate that ----. I wanna hit up the head/transmission with it, but it's not that big of a deal.

I seen people do it that way to, looks like a pain in the ***. I seen press form HF sell sometimes for under$100. BTW rockauto.com is your friend for parts.

I see you're running a delta cam. I see alot of people using it in their builds. Where do you get them from and is it necessary to run aftermarket springs and retainers? Thanks for any info
