Re: my car is hesitating

it needs to be tuned with some form of fuel management.

you cannot boost on a stock ecu. it will blow up.

Re: my car is hesitating

so do u think with an fmu it will run smooth and stop bogging out like that b4 i got the missing link it was doing that but as soon as the ecu read boost it would throw a cel now it doesnt do that so i think the missing link is operating correctly its just i need more fuel

Re: my car is hesitating

FMU is usually used with the missing link/check valves as i have learned. if you do plan on running the FMU, i also getting suggest getting some bigger injectors depending on what your going to do on your setup. Hope that kinda helped

Re: my car is hesitating

usually with an fmu u get a migger pump, but u should chip your ecu
cars run better...
$25 for the kit
crome/uber - free
just get some one to help u out with a wb.

Don't listen to these freaks. If your going to run low boost you can get by with an fmu. but YOU CANNOT RUN LARGER INJECTORS WITH AN FMU!! you run the missing link to stop the map sensor from reading boost and you install the fmu to give you more fuel pressure. An fmu and dsm 450s would make your car so rich it's wouldn't run. but your cylinders would get a nice bath.

my cx motor bogs when i load it in high gear or load it under low rpm , i think that motors just too weak for anything :l

I have an fmu (8:1),external fuel pump(MSD),check valves and a fuel pressure regulator. Running 10PSI with no problems, get ahold of the Maximum boost book and read it,it tells you proper fuel pressures for low boost applications. All on a stock B18b with stock PR4 ECU.
Cheers

are you proud of your set up marco?

Maybe you can answer my question, im gonna be running 5lbs with a fmu and upgraded fuel pump on my B20a5, but i was wondering if i should also get a fuel pressure regulator too like in ur setup?, or is it not needed for 5lbs. and what kind are you using?

Re: my car is hesitating

you dont need an afpr for 5lbs with an fmu

Re: my car is hesitating

dude just spend the money to get your ecu chipped then run bigger injectors and you will be better off in the long run! unless you got money like that

stock fpr is fine

Re: my car is hesitating

thanks guys, i was thinking about chipping, but then ill have to convert to obd1 and thats expensive, then ill have to pay for a obd1 ecu, and a butt load for tuning because i dont know how and i dont know any one that knows how. Since this is my first setup i wanted to see how cheap i can really go and right now i have pretty much everything for my setup and im just about to break $500.00

Re: my car is hesitating

You can stay obd0 and run turboedit

I tuned my car myself, first time ever, first attempt, first everything

Do iT YOURSELF!

iLLstate 08-17-2006 07:15 PM

Re: my car is hesitating

cant run turbo edit on 3g ludes, the distributor is obd1 and the ecu is obd0, its one or the other. :(

Okay, 8:1 FMU. So your car doesn't want to ever start then does, coughs black smoke, and putts down the road boosting 10psi and 10 feet of black smoke, right? Your gas milage is equal to like what? A Hummer?

Listen to this ^^

And if you wanna be extra safe (safe as you can w/an fmu), then run an inline fuel pump. In tank pumps are great for flowing large volumes, but they aren't built to handle really high fuel pressures. That's where inline fuel pumps are better.

And you should definately retard your ign timing as well with the fmu.
