Re: my b18b1

You would be better judge of that since its your car, if the motor runs fine and compression is good then why not. JDM motors may have lower mileage but not neccesarily in better condition.

If it runs good, turbo it. You can always build an ls/vtec later on.

if it runs good turbo it, if it runs like ----.....turbo it. Good thing about b18b's they are easy to come by and cheap to buy. They also hold boost really well with good feul management so dont be affraid to push 10+ psi

do they smog? if not then your turbo is legal and probably will pass smog if not in cali

i passed emissions in spokane, WA last year running turbo using uberdata. since im obd1 conversion they couldnt read through obd2 port so they used that tester up the tail pipe. first test didnt pass so i went home and changed feul a little bit and passed right away.

You should overnight an engine from Japan.

Re: my b18b1

well, if you go turbo just switch back the ecu and injectors....considering your doing 450's and chipped ecu. then you have 2 yrs to boost...but its up to you. strict emissions are a bitch.

still in spokane? I live in the moscow/pullman area.

has anyone heard of running an airpump through the exhaust, i know it sounds crazy but i read it on a forum the other day and the guy passed emissions with no problem. He said something about BMW and Mercedes doing it to pass emissions?
