My 2006 S197 4.6L 3V Custom Turbo! ***UPDATED AGAIN***
Yes boys and girls, although this is generally a import based forum.. I went ahead and started to build my own custom turbo setup.
I'm about 95% completed, and I am only missing a BAP (boost-a-pump, fmu whatever you guys call it).. here are some pics of the piping, and pics of the old dumb way of doing it, and pics of my new ball bearing turbo.
piping from under the car with side exhaust..
the wastegate saying hello...
intercooler upfront..
closer view..
turbo in...
and after finishing up all the piping, and connecting the turbo (i was going to run the turbo without it feeding the engine cause i need to get tuned.. (big no-no ive heard) but my oil feed line was stripped and I had no idea, which caused my engine to be sprayed with oil all over the place.. it was horrible so the exhaust shop built me a ugly coupler that connects the up-pipe to the down-pipe ... so i could drive the car back home.. later that night i said FUCKIT and put up the 200$ 60-1 turbo (the right one on the pic below) for sale, and went ahead and purchased the Comp Turbo built CT67R (gt30r internals/housing- http://compturbo.com/products/index....&product=CT467) and I have yet to bolt everything back on.. got new oil feed lines, and i will be using heater hose for the oil return.. (would it work?) .. 39# injectors, wg .6bar (8.75psi) .. greddy style BOV... any suggestions? let me know.
thanks.

Re: My 2006 S197 4.6L 3V Custom Turbo!
you want to keep your stock injectors when using an FMU. dont go with bigger injectors unless you have real engine management
you might wanna look at the flapper delete plates when installing them, they dont match the stock ports very well at all

these are stock castings, without the butterflies in them.. and i'm going to get custom tuned using a SCT Xcal II on the street, by a verywell known tuner.. so in other words I'll have a complete custom tune done for the car, the stock injectors are 19# .. not enough for 8psi.

those steeda plates arent made from anything OEM and they arent cast they are machined......and poorly at that. after we built an inatke manifold for an S/C 06 we bought a set of those plates and in some places they were 5+ mm larger than the stock ports, so with out a full port and polish you are better off removing the flappers from the stock setup and sealing the plates with dowels and JB weld
