I have been lurking around for a while now so i thought i would share my ride. 4 years and 3 setups later its finally boosted. here is the low down.
99 mirage de coupe cali spec auto( dont hate the manual is in the trunk) TD-04HE-13C turbo t3 flange on stock cali spec manifold custom down pipe 2' evo 3 inter cooler ic piping from evo 8, saab, dsm Bosch bov 240 cc galant injectors safc2 aem wide band msd 6al megan fpr nology hot wires 2.5 exhaust gutted cat gr2's aero speed springs flex-a-lite trans cooler filled mounts on cross member vdo boost gauge hmt vibration dampener stock fuel pump with msd in-line pump(not installed yet) |
Nice. I used to have a 91 mirage. Always thought it would be fun to boost the 4g15.

^not yet waiting to put the manual in. it dyno'ed 71whp na so when i up the boost to 10psi i hope 150whp or more on stock engine.

looking gewd i have the hyundai vareint of this motor 4gEK also 1.5, keep boosting it im sure yours can also do 270hp on stock internal's

the most ever seen in this gen 1.5 was 201whp on 15psi stock internals and a 40 shot. vitara piston fit with minor mods but rods are 700 so the only option i have is shot peen stock rods.i had to modify the stock mani cause the only thing close to fitting is an ew4 crx si. just waiting on money to make it faster. sick setup btw.

I have a hyundai accent with 1.5sohc (apha motor) that I built/boosted. Im running shot peened rod and low compression cast iron pistons and they have held up so far. I was runnin 22psi but on a t25 that was so small it couldnt make no power (I ran it with the wastegate line pulled). It made 195whp and 220 torque im hoping to much more more down with the next turbo.

that cause everyone is jelous, i would think it would respond to boost better than 150hp @10psi get a bigger turbo and shoot for at least 200

that is the plan. i need more fuel cause im already maxing these injectors +40 on high throttle and air fuel ratio is 13.5 at 6000. (shift point is 6400) only 1 person has hit 200whp from what i know and thats on 15 psi and a 40 shot. id really like to build the engine but i have to want since no moneys. thanks for the replys guys!

I just used a aftermarket walbro fuel pump for my setup (255). Before we tuned my setup on the dyno it wasnt making to much power, maybe 140? The tune is what reallly got me up there though we tuned rich. Running such small power (these t25 turbos really are crap lol) the boost doesnt affect the motor like you would think. I pushed 15psi on stock internals Daily driven (and seriously beaten) for almost a year before the thermostat got stuck and my temp gauge didnt work leading me to a broken ringland on a hard pull =-( Dont be afraid to raise the boost when your ready, these turbos are cheese.

so is my 13c comparable to a t25? cause it sure as hell does not pull like one. all of my power(and it may be due to the automatic) is above 3500 rpm. i have a friend with a lot nicer manifold and a dsm t25. it also pulled at lower rpms. im talking 8 psi at 2200 so if that is the case then i just need to put my booster pump in. grrrr its so fustrating. so let me ask this. most people say you want to tune in 3 gear and my a/r on the wide band will be steady at 13.5 and sometimes hit 14.3. should i add more fuel? reason why i ask is my high setting is at +40 already. i just do not want to over max my injectors.

why dont you get a set of dsm 450s or a set of rx7 460cc injectors? what are you doing about timing for that car. that is just as important as fuel mixture

Mitsi tdo4 13c should be on par with Garrett T2.5, your AFR should be more conservitive for a turbo car, suggest runnning 12's...... A Conservitive Tune and Enuff Fuel can give ---- engine's a longer life making decent power...

lol right now i dont have ANY money for parts. hell i still have to get the thing to pass emissions next month. i have to have high impedence and i dont really want to hack my wiring harness. the car has a distributor but only 1 deg of timming. i want to run 10 psi until i get enough cash to put my hal tek in so it will take a while.

Get a walbro 255, get your injectors tested or fit bigger...

i have a msd pump just have not installed it yet. i cant sacrifice a day of work or overtime to do anything to do it. i am supposed to get a set of evo 9 injectors from a friend but have not heard anything from him.

i may be wrong but im pretty sure the evo 9 is low impedance also so you will still need to hack your harness just like the dsm injectors

you definetly need to get some more fuel and some sort of timing controller if its a daily driver

i have a hal tek e6k full stand alone i just do not have a lap top nor the cash for tunning. as for right now im just going to keep it at 5 psi till the manual goes in and till income tax. i need a 1,2,3 bar map sensor and non fouler mod before emissions. i live in a apartment complex so i have no room for a 2nd car.

if it needs a radiator or its cracked go ahead and change the thermostat preferably a lower temp one like 170 deg or 160. silicone hose's will help on temps. maybe there is a ebay special aluminum one. post pics man!
