Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
So you spent 175 on all that garbage and you don't know what else you need to finish your setup? Damn this kit is pretty Ghetto with a capital G. Looks like just some leftover stuff someone had or found in dumpster. I like that plastic flex piping. That should be kinda cool to see when or if it ever see's boost.

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
Nice mix of PVC, intake tubing, turbo etc.... Just think, what else could you put on your car for $175 that will make an extra 40-75whp. Just get some bends off JCwhitney or Ebay to redo the charge pipes and you'll be set.
Did it come w/ some 450's? |
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!

from what i see youve got about 175 dollars worth in fernco fittings from home depot.
|
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
well if the turbo is in decent shape that whole mess might be worth 175, that intercooler and charge piping needs some
TLC. good luck with the setup, hope you finish it. |
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
it looks like it came off a shadow/chrystler. look on the exhaust housing it should tell you the a/r size.

|
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
asside from teh charge pipe, it looks like a soild deal. turbos 120ish block fitting and feed line 25, hf manifold and adaptor plate 75ish.

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
I agree rawr, but he doesn't know that, he probably thought he was done after buying this kit.
defiantej, please don't buy anything else until you've read up on some things, wouldn't want to see you get taken when it could've easily been avoided. 8) |
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
looks like a .40 or a .45 trim compressor wheel.
|
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
the turbo is off of a saab....looks exactly like mine....mines a .42/.48.....

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
.42/.48 is refering to the ar of the housings. If you look at the inducer diameter of the compressor wheel it gives a clue about the trim. no step on the inside of the housing equals .50 trim.

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
i think you got a good deal if the turbo is in good shape and if not rebuild it and you still came out good plus you dont have to worry about dealing with the hassle of finding everything piece by piece saves a headache!!

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
thats is a homemade turbo kit like noones business ;D......i love. i vote its worth the money atleast for the turba and mani....not a bad buy :6

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
That ---- is ------ hot!
|
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
that looks to me a .42/.48 off of a saab turbo. if you go to a junk yark like a pull-a-part find a saab turbo and get the stock downpipe it will serve you well for what you are working with. here is a pic. Good luck with the setup

Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
Looks like complete ----...I love it. The charge piping needs some love, but for a total of $300 you could have a kit running.

---- yeah.
That's definately $175 worth of stuff. Especially if the turbo is in good shape. Turbos go for $70 at our local upull it and the HF mani with adapter plate would be at least $80 or so. I also see an oil line with a block fitting (looks like stealthmode). etc etc... definately $175 worth of stuff. I wouldn't put it on like it is though, spend a few more hundred and you will have a nice kit on your hands. Nice find. |
Re: my $175 Single cam turbo kit!
my favorite part is the 90 degree bend made of PVC pipe, coming in a close second is the flexpipe and the gangsta welds on the intercooler.
def. worth $175, i sold a turbo like that for $100 8) |
