Yes, I beleive your setting will drop a bit. I was running open dp on my setup and it boosted well over 10 psi. I adjusted the wastegate setting so I didn't overboost again, But as soon as I installed the 3" downpipe and 3" straight back exhsuat with a turbo N1 muffler, the psi needed to be re adjusted back to 10 again.

how did you adjust your wastegate setting? i have the internal wastegate and its not threaded. i have the line going from the nipple on the compressor to the nipple on the wastegate.

I'm running an external gate so it was adjusted by the screw on top, but you can thread your actuator rod to adjust it. Check out the "New user's" post at the top of the Forced Induction section. Somewhere in those links, there are instructions on how to do it. If you don't find it, just PM me.

oh, external huh? i bet thats nice. but im going to get my downpipe on and see what it does. i was expecting to see maybe 7psi at the motor due to the intercooler and the stock setting at 8psi. maybe a boost controller will lower the spike. i dunno

Well you do get some pressure drop due to the intercooler and piping, so I guess you really won't know for sure, until you try it out. Good luck with the setup and we want pics when it's done

FYI boost controllers wont lower the boost.Since you need boost to pull the diaphram on the wastegate,it impossible to make it open sooner with a boost controller.

A boost controller bleeds off boost in the line that goes from the compressor housing to the wastegate(the controller goes in between the 2) in order to "fool" the wastegate in to thinking that their is less boost present, wich keeps the wastegate closed longer.
