Re:MSD BTR
What do you mean? which one do you need?
and its BTM not BTR.. You dont have to run one, in fact most people have them set very low, especially if running low boost setups. They basically are an aid in tuning, backing the timing down when boost goes up. Jeff |
Re:MSD BTM
Sorry, i meant this....Can i use this in combination with an external coil? Or even with my stock coil, can i just splice into the wires going into the dist??

Re:MSD BTM
so do you really need to run ignition if running low boost? like 5 psi
|
Re:MSD BTM
As jeff said you dont "NEED" one of these.. they are great tho, if you notice detonation you can dial it out.. The newer units are more expensive as they are bound into an msd7al ignition.. i dont beleive thry make the stand alone timing only unit any longer..
keep in mind retardation costs power. you effectivly cancell out boost with these.. to an some degree. thats why most turbo guys run them on the lowest setting possible.. but like i say if it gets really hot out, or you buy some ---- gasm this thing can save the day. |
Re:MSD BTM
i am going to be running 8 psi so i figured it is better safe then sorry..
