MP70 vband fitment issues
vband isnt sealing with the master power t70, the pics tell the storry
anyone else ever get this problem with the MP70 and what could be done there are a few options but i'd like to keep it clean looking, instead of clamping to the turbo i could extend with some pipe and use the 2 vband flanges, i was also thinking maybe to trim the vband itself on the one side so that it would sit in the groove of the turbo to seal up thanks for the help in advance http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2...0839po0.th.jpghttp://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2...0838ol1.th.jpghttp://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2...0837av0.th.jpg oh and would/does it matter that the flange is 1.5mm larger all around? http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/8...0836jg9.th.jpg |
Re: MP70 vband fitment issues

Give me some dimensions like OD and ID. I see if the precision turbo ones are similar. |
Re: MP70 vband fitment issues
well the vband is the 3" ss, pretty standard i think as for the turbo

Re: MP70 vband fitment issues
2.5" vband clamp won't fit will it? the outlet is closer to 3" i dont think you would be able to even put the vband on properly

Re: MP70 vband fitment issues
Okay I measured a precision turbo 3" v-band and the OD was 92mm, exactly like yours. The ID is about 2.875, slightly smaller than 3" tubing. The tubing slips over a small lip on these v-bands. I'll try to get a pic. |

i just need to know if i trim the inside of the vband or do i extend the housing with straight pipe and use 2 flanges instead of clamping to the turbo housing |

still looking for info

The T4 one uses 4" tubing, but the OD is 92mm. so it will line up perfect. The ID though was like 78mm or so. It tapers down from the 4" tubing. |
Re: MP70 vband fitment issues
so your saying i need to get a 4" vband set for the turbo housing? hmm, that doesnt sound right, can you get pics to show me?
its just that damn vband edge that catches onto the turbo housing, maybe if i trim it with a dremel? otherwise ill extend the turbo housing with some straight pipe and use both vband flanges |

Regular exhaust tubing flanges are generally different than turbo vbands. T3 vbands generally use 3" tubing and T4 vbands generally use 4" tubing. The OD on the precision T4 vband is 92mm, exactly what you posted. |
Re: MP70 vband fitment issues
then i would need to get a 4" to 3" reducer, cuz my entire exhaust line is 3"
