more turbo Qs

my turbo (td04) has a 2" outlet, and my ic inlet is 2.5". should i use a 2.5" pipe or 2" between them? In the end, i am using a 2.5" from the ic to the tb. i heard that the bigger the pipe the more lag??

just use 2.5" on everything.

lol jeff, thats not good advice
id like to ask your set up and how much boost youll be running, yes it is true with larger piping and small boost you will have smaller unnecessarry lag. My gues is this is a daily driver and ur on hmt so you probably wont be doing sick ass boosting so id say go with 2.0" piping you get your powered delivered quicker

:)thanks for the help, i have 2.5" pipe readily available. so i think i will make it out of that and also 2" to see how much of a difference.. i will only be running around 8psi..

Yes 2.5 pipe is good advice.. You will hardly see a drop between 2.0 to 2.5, I've used on lots of setups 2.5 and it has always worked out good. If your worried just run 2.0 on one side, and 2.5 on the other, done that several times too.

if the compressor outlet is only 2" how do you tightly secure a 2.5" pipe to that?

it's strange that of all the reading I've done I've never stopped to consider this question. :-\

Three easy ways:
1. Use a t-bolt clamp and really crank it
2. Use a silicone step-up piece
3. Machine a beautiful billet aluminum adapter at a very shallow angle to decrease turbulence and give you 1 or 2 hp and some bragging rights.

yeah, with connecting the pipe.. i think i will make that aluminum piece.. i will just go out to the trusty non-insulated garage and dust off the ole cnc machine.. no prob.....lol. for now i think i will use a adapter hose. but really, thanks for the advice.. good idea, i can have that made at school here..
