more flow from HF mani?
 
ive heard people say that there were a couple things i could do to my HF mani to get a little bit better flow? true? thanks

other than your basic porting and polishing of it, ive never heard of anything else. but i wouldnt take to much off, might weaken the little guy

is ti an actual hf mani, because there are like three different ones that look almost the same

hf, std, and cx/vx are the one you are talking about. heres the thread to the information.

if ported properly they are supposed to flow as well as a log manifold, some say better.

noob question but how do u port and polish a manifold ? i have an std mani and i hear they are a lil thicker then the hf so you can port and polish it more but can anybody give me some info on how to do it?

i use an air compressor and die grinder.
put the exhaust gasket up to the manifold and trace the ports.
get a face shield or safety goggles/glasses and go to work.
don't get discouraged because it takes some time to finish.

it should be really easy to port because its cast iron. just dont take too much off.

or bring it to a machine shop and they can port for you

Cast iron f'in sucks to port, use to port alot of it when hf mani's where the thing to have. A vented area and lots of patience. Cast iron smeels like ---- when grinded and leaves a lovely after taste. Not to mention all the carbon built up in the 200k mile hf manifold.
