Default more boost issues...still

Here's the deal...b16a with a 16g, BRE, 450's, walbro 255lph hp pump, set to 8psi on the wastegate. Been having issues with running lean after getting off the highway, so I checked my plugs (stock bkr6 heat range) and ok, they were running too hot. Swapped them out for bkr7's and went for a cruise to the movies. Ran rich the entire way, got off the exit to the movie theater, and what do you know...coolant temp is spiking again, imagine that. :P After the movie I pulled the plugs quick and they were pretty sooted up, turned down the fpr as far as I could (pressure guage really didn't seem to go down though). Started up, ran great up on to the highway, great down the highway towards my house, and sure as ----...got off the exit and it starts going lean again...very lean, like as in doesn't even want to pull kind of lean. Does this all the way to my house (5 minutes or so), pull in the driveway and guess what...temp spiking again. WTF is going on here?!?!?!? This is really starting to **** me off, I'm about ready to sell the car because everything I try doesn't seem to do ----. With the "6" range plugs it never spiked in temp, but it would go lean after a while of cruising...WTF?!?

Maybe just swap in a TE bin and try that for a day or 2.

Ya know, I thought about doing that. I started comparing .bin's to see if I noticed anything different, and one thing did stick out...on my previous boost setups using this same pr3 I was using ng55 code, this time I bumped up to ng60. I've also noticed that my IACV hasn't been working since switching to ng60 and it would always idle at the 800rpm that I set it at whether it was cold or not. I reburned the old ng55 bin I was using, and voila'...IACV's working again. It's weird if you ask me, but hey...if it'll take care of my issue then I'll go back to ng55. If not, time to wipe the dust off TE.

Still shitty luck...tried the ng55 code and then even went to TE...still the same results. Now I have a leaky manifold to turbo gasket and it still overheats like a bitch to add to the list, even with all the things I've tried and the colder plugs. I've had it with the car...all I want to do is be able to drive it. Looks like that ls/vtec or b20/vtec build is getting put back into build status...this car and boost just don't agree. :P

I had the exact same issues with my b16..almost same setup as you..and BRE..coolant temp spikes as well..i tried sooo much stuff with no luck..I changed my head gasket-put in a cometic..and put a thicker radiator in..and that finally solved my problems..I really hope thats not the case for you..But alas, that solved my issues...

Yeah, that's pretty much the road I've headed down so far. Haven't replaced the head gasket yet, and I'm probably just going to finish where I left off with my n/a ls/vtec just so I can drive the car around.

New compression test results in, just keep in mind there's a 2 degree cam overlap...#1 181psi, #2 190psi, #3 190psi, #4 185psi.

*update* I might have found the issue, or at least part of it. My brand new honda oem t-stat sticks...sticks bad. There's a rubber gasket around there sealing area that opens and closes that's getting stuck into the t-stat, and it takes quite a bit of force to open it by hand. Kinda makes a little pop sound then moves freely. It looks like a vatozone stant replacement ftw today. :P
