modifying wastegate actuator pics

Well I have a T25 Turbo but without the wastegate actuator, so my buddie gave me one off his spare T25. When I got home and put it on, it didnt fit right.

the arm comes out further then it should.

So then I brought the turbo so my buddie could take a look at it, he said that its a DSM T25 compressor but with a standard T25 exaust, hes never seen that before.

heres a pic of the exaust side

So my question is, can I cut the waste gate arm and weild it back together? I mean ive seen that set up with the chain and spring so, Im sure anything can be done, but would it be reliable to cut the actuator arm?

let me know, also if there are any better DIY solutions

Is there any chance it is stuck open? I've seen this a time or two before. Try pulling on the arm and see if it is still working.

yes.

oh and if its closed, just shorten the arm or drill a hole where it needs to be.

rig up something where you can adjust the length. You wouldnt want to weld it and have it be a few mm off

no its not stuck open. and the position of the little bracket that moves the wastegate flap is at closed in the picture. I also have another wastegate from a nissain, that has an threaded adjustable arm on it, im thinking bout cutting off the ends and swaping.

just cut it in half, take about an inch or 2 off the middle, thread it and make it adjustable with a threaded stud or sumthin then use nuts on each side to lock it down
