mitsu turbos?
hi,I'm not to familiar with mitsu turbos, they don't seem to be as simple to understand as garretts for their numbering. I think I got it but not 100% sure, if some one could confirm the following it would be appriciated.TD04 and TD05 are the exhaust wheels (hot side), and 9b, 11b, 13g, 14b, 15g, 16g, 18g ect are compressor wheels (cold side)?
the reason I ask is because I picked up a brand new mitsu turbo 4 cheap 100 bux .it has td04h on the compressor housing, the guy I bought it off of said it was a 14g. but this could be anything from a 11b to a 15g right? I'm guessing the only way to tell 4 sure would be to measure it? here are some pics http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...?id=2131925414 they aren't really any use though since I don't have a good pic of the compressor yet. the turbo will be here friday so I'll post up some better pics of the comp side then. thanks, B |

Re: mitsu turbos?
tdo4h is a 13g, its off of an automatic dsm. the 14b is the tdo5h and its off of a manual dsm ( both 1st gen turbos) if your planning on using on a sohc motor it should work ok, my buddys hatch z6 pulled pretty good with a 13g, although the 14b will make a noticable amount more power at the same boost, if you want to put it on a dohc motor, forget it, it will spool very fast and die out almost instantly, you should run like 10 psi with that thing, 7or8 is not enough....

Re: mitsu turbos?
thanks for the info,
actually it's just for a spare, I'm either gonna use my k26 or my 60/48 t3 for my d16 setup not sure which. I was just looking for some info on it to see if it was worth the 100bux. B |
