missing link missing?

If i am correct the missing link works by a valve that closes when boost hits it. Then it just reads outside air. What if you just plug the map sensor hole in the intake manifold. Then it would just read outside air and not see boost. Thanks for the replies.

a missing link is a one way valve that reads vaccum not boost
