Might be just me..
But...please endulge an little half yank half half european.
If memory serves me the 2,3 16V out of the old berettas produced something like 185 ponies stock? Howcome that one seldome see anyone state side boosting them? Also have some recollection that they were fairly popular in some forms of racing? Having driven a couple ill admit to that the engine feels kinda a peaky,but...i mean..to you guys it should be domestic.? |

Re: Might be just me..
Shut up, swede. Your country is good for 3 things.
1) Meatballs 2) Women 3) Fish Beretta, as in Chevy Beretta? Came with a 2.2 four banger and a 3.1 v6, I do believe they also had 1 other engine but I am unsure. I've yet to see a boosted beretta, then again most people dont do crap with Cavaliers or Sunfires either. Popular? Amongst 18-28 year old girls mostly. |
Re: Might be just me..
i must say iv driven 1 and it was quick...but the head design was terrible and they constantly blow head gaskets....so often you wouldnt have time or money to turbo it because youd be spending all you money on gaskets and all your time replacing them

Re: Might be just me..
I remember seing a site I believe it was on cardomain, it had a tripple blown baretta making eighthundred and some odd hp on that 3.1

WTF da ya think it is thats keepin us up here.Moron. But..wasnt the beretta equiped with a 16V engine of 185hp NA at one time? And whats more..wasnt it 2,3 liter displacement? Got some vague memory of that the same engine was used in some other car as well? Have had a couple at the shop(they indeed ARE exotic around here ;D) but its been a while.. |

Re: Might be just me..
As for bying a beretta.
Just came to mind..thought that it could be kewl around here seing how scarse they are. But..as mentioned i also start to recall that business with the head gasket being eaten alive. |
Re: Might be just me..
That's not a 2.2 you ------- idiots ::)
You're looking at a Quad 4 engine. I know. Best 4 banger America made; well advanced for it's time, adn a helluva racing engine |
Re: Might be just me..
Also look into parts for a W41.
And for info, talk to Phil Lyall @ Whtieknucklecustoms |
