Mickey Thompson Slick Rim Question

My setup is a Turbod16z6 making around 190whp with no LSD in a 93 Hatch. I'm aiming for a mid 13" second pass with the car around 2100-2150lbs.

I'm wondering what size rim I should use for a MT 22x8x13" slick? I'm just curious what I should look for in a 4x100 rim? Steelie? something lighter?

13x7 Lensos, your best choice, light too!!!!!!

But you might be better served by the 20x8x14 MT's on a 14x6-7" rims......I went through three sets in 6-7 years.

LSD is a must unless you understand how to add "wedge" to the chassis.........

I went 13.09 @ 103 mph on a Z6 with 85 shot, car weighed over 2300 with driver. I was launching at 7500 rpm and getting low 1.8 60 foots.

Re: Mickey Thompson Slick Rim Question

running a open diff you can tweak the swaybar to jack more weight onto the RF. The car will launch straight and hard when done right.

This will change the chassis setup and will not be autox friendly.

Cost .10-.20 depending on how many washers you need, I used 2.

13.27 @ 101 mph on 75 shot, open diff that way.......

So you add washers to the swaybar link on the right side to add preload? Is that what you mean? My accord has an open diff and nobody makes lsd's for it, but at least when im on the street, both tires lite up consistantly, same at the track too

Re: Mickey Thompson Slick Rim Question

Hey Mistabone,
Thanks for the Info. The reason why I was going for the 13's is because they are cheapest slick I could find. unless you can recommend another brand slick that may be cheaper. Right now the 22x8x13 Mickey Thompson are 180 canadian each.

I was wondering where I can find information adding wedge to your chassis? How does this affect daily driveability? B

Andrew
