Default Mech vs. elec boost gauges...

So I am looking at boost gauges and need to know if a mech boost/vac is worth getting or if I should just spend the cash for a elec one? I know with my f/pr gauges there is about a 4-5psi difference between my mech and elec one (I have my mech under hood and elec in-car) and I dont know if that will be the case with boost gauges. Plus I'm kinda iffy about running the hose through the firewall cuz if it ever got pinched then it wouldnt read right... anyways, lets hear some opinions.

mechanical, less prone to failure

routeing a vac line isnt that hard

Mech....I never even considered and elec one...seems to expensive for what it does....you can use a copper line if you are worried about kinks...the plastic on the comes with the guages is fin but if you bend it to much it will crack/kink...but you couldalso put the plastic inside of some rubber hose and it should be more than enough protection

Mechanical and electronical boost gauges read two different things. A mechanical gauge reads gauge pressure. An electonical gauge reads absolute pressure. Neither one is superior to the other. If you are worried about pinching, feed the line through some wireloom or something to minimize the risk.

I had an electric one that was all fancy and ----, and when I went to the dyno it wasn't accurate at all. I will use mechanical from now on just because of the simplicity and price. I use vac hose to hook it up.
