McMaster steel butt weld parts are green?

I used McMaster butt weld SS parts to build kits before, this is my first time getting the steel ones. They are covered in a green paint inside and out. Wont' this "chunk-peel" off inside and make it's way into the turbo? Should I somehow strip it off? I am thinking it's there inside and out for rust protection since it is steel and not stainless steel, but what should I do to prep it?

Flapper wheel on a flex shaft will remove it. I had that on the first log I ever built and it just burned off with no problems at all.

Sand Blaster, or ya wire wheel on a dremel, or get the bitches real hot with a torch be they go together.
