MBC question

I'm fed up searching for actuators with the right spring in ball. I live in a country where only Audis and other European wagons run mainly, and couldn't find any actuator set at 6.5-8psi stock. Only higher set or non working balls at all.

I had to lower my actuator, but i spool 1000rpm later now.

My question is if I loosen the spring with actuator, set it low, connect a MBC and set it higher than the LOOSEN value will it work and spool faster (MBC set lower than the spring in ball originally)?
E.g:
Ball spring: 11psi
Actuator set with turning the rod: 5psi
MBC set: 7psi (higher than the value set at the actuator, but lower than the spring originally)

Re:MBC question

no, it will still spool slower b/c when you adjust the actuator to lower the boost, it's actually holding the wg flapper open a little bit all the time, the only way to close it would be to adjust the actuator shorter (raise boost), an mbc raises boost by not allowing the actuator to see all of the boost from the signal line/hose, so basically, they work totally different and although you could do what you say and raise the boost with an mbc after lowering the actual wg psi, it would still spool slower b/c the wg flapper would stay open a little (this is what causes the slow spool). does that make any sense to you :-\ :P

Re:MBC question

uh...check ebay for a lower psi actuator.

Re:MBC question

I've managed to get a new actuator with weaker spring. It works fine, boosts around .4bar (6.5psi). The only prob is i get boost spike to .6bar (9psi) before it settles to 6.5psi.

My question is, do i eliminate boost spike with MBC? In case I set the MBC to .5bar (7.4psi) shall i still get boost spikes? I want to buy a cheaper MBC, btw, i saw one for 10USD on ebay.

Anyone?

Re:MBC question

the only real way to eliminate boost spike is with a good external wastegate.

Re:MBC question

Yes, i know ext. wastegate would be the best solution, but why sellers declare thier MBC eliminates spikes? Simple marketing only?
