Is the wastegate just for decoration? If no, why did you block off the exhaust port, and not add a dump tube?

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

if you looked closely, you will see Its not blocked at all, theres theres a flange and a block flange, seperated by 4 washers, so theres enough space to dump without spike, just less noise

cant see that close, pics are too poor.

wouldnt that jump dump a ---- load of heat into your bay? and why is the WG only on one runner? weird ass ----

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

not much heat under the hood when rolling, dont ask me why about the design of the manifold, it works great.

because the guy is not very good at engineering and did not think about this setup for very long...when did mazda make a mazdaspeed 626?

With the turbo sucking in the hot air, that's just hurting the performance. Not a wise idea in my opinion.

Dude, you should at least put a dump tube on that fucker! How many miles have you put on it since you turboed it?

txdohczc 10-19-2008 09:31 PM

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

proabably not many becuase he is scratching head wondering why he is overheating :1

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

7k miles already, the intake mani is ice cold to touch, hot air isnt a issue, the water/meth injection helps alot

take 20 min and fab up a decent dump tube, the only reason im not drivng my car right now, is cause i didnt finish my dump tube.... It makes a mess under the hood ;)

Plus it increases performance, and well you dont have the exhaust fumes coming in the car either

your wastegate is now basically a pressure sensitive egr :8. your turbo is sucking in exhast instead of nice fresh cold air.

Hey man, is that the same 2.0L engine found in the MX-6 cars(2nd gen)?? I know a guy that's been bullshitting around with one for quite awhile. He needs to see this ----...maybe it will motivate him. I agree with everyone else, get a dumptube on the WG...Otherwise it looks good, though...Something different...

correct, its the same engine, however mx6 came with hydrolic lifter instead of solid lifter, and a distributor.

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

Yeah, I thought that was the same engine. Is that an ebay mani?? I might go buy that POS from him now that I see something can definitely be done with it. He already has a stock header fabbed up with an adapter plate and a IHI bolted up, he's just the type of person who starts ALL kinds of ----, but never finishes any of it.

Re: mazdaspeed 626, project done.

the mani is obx, ibought it on ebay before, but it seems the one you will find now isnot obx anymore. obx makes junk but this mani hold well over 50kmile
