max boost on T25?
how much iis max without causing damage to the turbo? i wanna boost as much as i can get out of it without over boosting on the turbo.

Re: max boost on T25?
I wouldnt push it over 14psi before getting a bigger turbo.

I thought those crazy DSM nukkas pounded them out to 19psi? JP |
Re: max boost on T25?
there was a guy that i know that had his t25 @20psi for a couple of months on a vxbottom end with a a6 head on it, so it was like 7-1comp.

Re: max boost on T25?
not worried bout the motor not being able to handle it. i wanna kno how much the turbo can put out. i kno the motor can handle it. so ur friend did 20 psi with a t25? how long did it last =x

Re: max boost on T25?
20 psi !!! wow.... I cudn't imagine it would last for very long.
But they are cheap so yeh, investing in a good size T3 for now would also do the trick |
Re: max boost on T25?
It depends on the motor you are using it on. 10 PSI on a D-series is a completely different thing than 10 on a B-series. Think about it - the pressure in the intake manifold is only what your motor isnt taking in. So the turbo will loose efficiency much faster on a motor that breaths harder.

Re: max boost on T25?
my friend ran 22 psi on his talon when he wanted the new turbo, it developed a lot of shaft play and leaked oil into the charge pipes after about 2 weeks to a month....

Re: max boost on T25?
what size engine do you have?? you can boost 20 psi on a 1 liter motorcycle engine or a 2.4 liter Tsx engine. but on the tsx engine it will have to flow way more to hold the boost. I say a t25 is way to small for any engine over 1.3 liters.

Re: max boost on T25?
to small but comes stock on 2.0litre engines... upgrade time

Either way, I dont think the T-25 would be efficient past 18psi. I'm not sure though, you'd have to check with a compressor map. Or if you've got some dyno time, just raise the boost level until you dont see any more power. |

Re: max boost on T25?
i know a guy who has been running a t25 on a 2.5l shelby daytona for almost 3 years at 18psi and it still runns just fine. and fyi this guys is an idiot and runs the hell out of the car all the time. you be the judge. to put it short garrett turbos are high quality.

Re: max boost on T25?
i think without porting or anything of that sort, 15 psi is about as much as it can efficiently push without just generating excess heat.

Re: max boost on T25?
I'm running a t25 on my ls and it hauls ass. Just ask the guy in the STi, x2. I think it should get a little more appreciation. For non V-tech, its the way to go.
